Salalah is one the most beautiful and captivating places in the Gulf regions. it is located in the Dhofar province of Oman. I went to Salalah during its so popular - The Khareef Festival i.e. in the month of August for 3 days. I took a road trip from Dubai through an overnight bus transport (namely - Al ghazal, GTC) that took almost 14-15 hours to reach Salalah. You can board these buses from Palm Deira that leaves at 3 pm every day. I got to see the UAE and Oman border (my first ever I think) where the Oman visa got stamped.

Almost major part of the journey there is barren land on both the sides so at times it is boring to see outside (better take a good company with you). next day in the morning around 9am we entered Salalah and Whoa suddenly from nowhere you can see so much greenery. So lush green plantations and low lying clouds from beside the road to up the hill to wherever your eye reaches. The weather was just very pleasant - sometimes drizzling, sometimes hot and cold. I went in a group of 4 people so we booked a car for 3 days and wandered almost in every part of the city.
so first I went to Wadi Darbat - a very spectacular and beautiful waterfall in Salalah. You can also enjoy the boat ride here in the very clean water. Then I went to the Mughsail beach well known for the springs and Marneef caves have a very photogenic drive to it. Ain Garziz, Ain Khor, Salalah archaeological museum, Nabi Ayub Tomb, are the must visit while you are in Salalah. Also don't forget the very famous anti-gravity hill, a place where actually you can put your car in neutral gear and the car starts climbing the hill on its own - Yes you heard it right.
Check out the pictures so that you will get the exact feel of the places in the very beautiful and lovely Salalah, Oman.
